What You Should Bring / Seasonal Weather
As we are located in a tidal water area, we see a daily fluctuation of water levels (high tide & low tide). During low tide the sea-bed floor is host to thousands or oysters and clams that can be found 5km up river. Although these guys act as a natural filter for our waterways their exterior shells are extremely sharp and potentially dangerous. It is for this reason that footwear is mandatory for all participants using kayak or SUP.
Neoprene booties work the best for paddling activities, sandals that stay tight, old running shoes, try to avoid crocs and flip flop style footwear as they fall off easily while swimming.
In the month of May and early June, the use of wetsuits and neoprene boots are mandatory for all participants. Wetsuit and neoprene boot rentals are available for purchase at our retail shop.
July and August
During the summer months, our waters warm up significantly and this allows for a more comfortable paddling experience. Wetsuits are no longer mandatory, although they are recommended on rainy days.
